Sudarshan Setu: India’s longest cable stayed bridge inaugurated by PM Modi


This stunning bridge has been inaugurated by the prime minister shree Narendra Modi, is the India’s longest cable-stayed bridge. It is situated in gulf of kuch, dwarka, Gujarat. The sudarshan setu has been constructed at a cost of Rs 980 crore and it will provide seamless connectivity to pilgrims travelling to Bet Dwarka.

Length of the Sudarshan Setu

This cable-stayed bridge, spanning 2.32 kilometers, stands as the longest of its kind in India. It connects the Okha to Beyt Dwarka island. Formerly referred to as the 'Signature Bridge,' it has been renamed as 'Sudarshan Setu' or Sudarshan Bridge.

Solar panels have been installed atop the footpaths of the new bridge. These will help generate one megawatt of electricity. 


Sudarshan setu have four lane high standards road built on the Arabian Sea. It boasts a width of 27.20 meters, along with 2.50-meter-wide footpaths on either side for pedestrian access. Its construction includes a central double span cable-stayed portion extending over 900 meters, complemented by a 2.45-kilometer-long approach road.

Before the bridge's construction, pilgrims relied on the boat transport to access Beyt Dwarka. Now they will easily reach the dwarka through this sudarshan setu.
